Listen to Teachers is an equity activism project in which women educators create and anonymously share photography and narratives with policymakers and the public to advocate for justice, anti-racism, and inclusion in public schools.

Our Policy and Practice Desires

Listen to Teachers desires that educational leaders and policymakers:

Develop

Develop, and share with the public, an understanding of and respect for teachers’ experiences, ideas, and investment in the work of teaching and learning.

Include

Include, on an ongoing basis,traditional district classroom educators in legislative or school/district priorities, decision-making, and advisory-bodies at all levels.

Center

Center educators' voices in decisions, and in decision-making processes, that impact daily teaching and learning.

Prioritize

Prioritize increasing the following in local and state-level policies and practices: 

  • Equity, anti-racism, and inclusion

  • Student and staff safety

  • Educator autonomy
